Avondale, AZ - For race 24 of the 25-race 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule, Team Silverado heads to familiar territory in the Arizona desert for the Silverado 150. Phoenix International Raceway has long been considered the "home" of the truck series. The first-ever points race was held at the flat one-mile track southwest of Phoenix on February 5, 1995. Since that inaugural race, the series has visited the track at least one time a year without interruption. In fact, from 1995 through 1998, the NCTS competed at PIR in the early spring as part of the famed Copper World Classic and again in the fall. The schedule moved to a single fall race in 2001.

Chevrolet Silverado holds the record for the most manufacturer wins at PIR. The Chevy Bowtie has taken the checkered flag first 10 times out of the 14 NCTS races held.

David Starr returns to PIR to defend his 2004 NCTS win. Starr has yet to visit victory lane in 2005 and is looking to score a second consecutive trip to victory lane at Phoenix.

Two-time NCTS champion Ron Hornaday is always a favorite at PIR. Prior to his success at the track in the NCTS, the California native racked up wins and strong finishes in what then was titled the NASCAR Southwest Touring Series and the NASCAR West Series.

Mike Bliss, 2002 NCTS champion, is no stranger to winning at PIR. Prior to scoring his win in the truck series, Bliss was a standout in USAC open wheel competition and scored four victories in the famed Copper World Classic held early each spring at the flat one-mile oval.

Dennis Setzer is looking to rebound from two disappointing runs at Atlanta and Texas. Sitting just 63 points out of the points lead, Setzer knows time is running short to clinch his first-ever NCTS championship.

The first practice for the Silverado 150 is scheduled to begin Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. MST. Final practice will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Qualifying will be held at 10:00 a.m. MST on Friday morning and the final field of trucks impounded until the scheduled race start at 6:15 p.m. MST Friday evening. Live television coverage of the 150-lap/ 150-mile race will be provided by SPEED Channel with MRN and XM Satellite bringing the race live on the airwaves.

TEAM: No. 46 Morgan-Dollar Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado

QUOTES: "We are taking one of our best performing trucks to Phoenix. This Chevrolet Silverado has done very well at the flat, one-mile tracks this year and has also tested very well at Phoenix. Eric (crew chief) and I were very happy after the test we had out here a few weeks ago. As far as the truck's history, we won the race at Milwaukee and IRP with this truck and finished second at New Hampshire with it.

"During the test, the truck responded well to changes and we are all very excited about taking it out to Phoenix. Our team has had some good finishes there and we have dominated the Phoenix race before, but we have not been able to find victory lane out there. Right now our team could use a good run and this could be the place to get it.

"I love the layout of Phoenix International Raceway. Turns three and four are flat, but one and two have a little banking. The truck must be able to turn because you have to drive it in hard and also have to get off the corners to make a pass on someone. There also is a new factor to this race in that the race will be held under the lights for the first time. That's going to mean more grip with the tires, better side-by-side racing and a very exciting race for the fans."

TEAM: No. 16 Xpress Motorsports Chevy Trucks Silverado

QUOTES: "I am excited to head back to Phoenix, it has always been one of my favorite tracks. I have been running there for years, first in the Copper World Classic, then in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. It is a track that allows for more driver input. I am looking forward to being back on a track where we have to use the throttle and the brake.

"Everyone on this Chevy Trucks team is working hard, we just need a good solid run and a strong finish. I really feel like we will be in the hunt at Phoenix."

TEAM: No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Silverado

QUOTES: "Phoenix has long been one of my favorite places to race. It is a fun place to visit and a fun place to compete and winning there last year has made it even more special.

"We had a good run at Texas last weekend, gained a spot in the point standings and hit the two million dollar mark in winnings. Now we plan to take that momentum to Phoenix and put our Spears Chevy Silverado in the Number One spot for the second year in a row.

"The design of the Phoenix track is different from any other track we run on. You can run two wide, but you need to have a good handling truck and lots of horsepower. We have both in our Spears Chevy Silverado and our Hutter engines and when you add the ability of the Spears crew, we should be able to hit our goal."

TEAM: No. 6 Kevin Harvick, Inc. GM Goodwrench Silverado

QUOTES: "Our goal when we get to Phoenix is to put the GM Goodwrench Chevrolet back in victory lane. This is one of my better tracks and it feels like a home away from home for me. I feel like I have run well there in everything that I ever raced. We have to regain our third place position in the points and this is this place that we can do that. The guys have worked so hard this year and we would love to finish things out with that second win."

TEAM: No. 15 Billy Ballew Motorsports Land Liquidations Silverado

QUOTES: "I haven't raced at Phoenix in the truck but we ran well in New Hampshire. Hopefully it will be a better race than New Hampshire was for us, because we had a better truck than the finish showed. Everything I learn on Friday will help me in the Cup car for Sunday. I am looking forward to having a little fun."

TEAM: No. 08 Bobby Dotter Racing Nashville Music City Silverado

QUOTES: "I have never raced at Phoenix, but as a racing fan, it's my favorite place to watch a race. It's also my favorite track to race online. I hope my experience on the track is just as great. Our goal with the Nashville...Music City 08 Silverado is to learn the track, race clean, stay out of trouble, and hopefully bring home a good finish."

"The Morgan-Dollar team has been great, and are continuing to help me a lot. They are in a tight points championship battle with Dennis Setzer, and we all decided to meet and run with some other great teams. Randy Goss and the entire MDM Chevrolet team will still be working closely with us, as we run the 08 Silverado in Phoenix with Bobby Dotter. We are excited to be hooking up with Bobby in Phoenix, and may run with another Chevy Silverado team at Homestead. This is all very exciting for us!"
