Avondale, Ariz...A twelfth place finish at this weekend's Chevy Silverado 150 at Phoenix International Raceway keeps Brendan Gaughan and Orleans Racing in the lead for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship. With one race left, this top ranked team now leads with a 26-point margin.

"What a weekend," said Gaughan at the end of the race. "We got here and we definitely weren't good. In fact we were awful. But that's what makes this team so awesome, my guys just don't give up. They keep on until they get it right and that is exactly what they did."

Qualifying in 14th, the Orleans crew continued to work on their Dodge truck and come race time things were looking good. "We moved up to 7th in 'Happy Hour'," said Gaughan, "and when we pulled off the Startline, things were even better. My whole team kept digging and now it was my turn to dig for them."

Taking the Green Flag, Gaughan began making his way toward the front slowly but surely. "We made our first of two pit stops when the first yellow came out," continues Gaughan. "And what a stop. The guys did a fantastic job and we gained a bunch of positions coming out in third place."

Driving an incredible race, Gaughan got up to second and with about 15 laps to go was starting to close on the leader when he hit a chunk of debris on the track. "We knocked a plug wire loose or something, he said. "It was just one of those things."

Hanging on for last ten laps, Gaughan finished 12th. "Luckily we're still in the lead and we finally broke our thirteenth place jinx, which is where we finished the last two years. We knew it was going to come down to the wire and we will definitely be ready to do our best at Homestead."
