What is the key to performing well at Phoenix?
"You have to get your truck to turn well in the middle of the corner at Phoenix. It is no big trick, it is not brain surgery, the guy that gets his truck to rotate in the center so he can get back on the gas quicker is going to be the truck to beat there. Hopefully we can get our Fastenal Dodge handling well, get it to rotate and get on the throttle when we need to. When you have a really good handling vehicle at Phoenix it is a really fun place to race. I am looking forward to this weekend."
What track does Phoenix most remind you of?
"Phoenix is more like Gateway than any other track we race on. It is very similar to Gateway in the sense that you have two very distinctive ends of the racetrack at both facilities. Each one has a tight corner with turns one and two and both have a wide sweeping corner at the other end. It is really hard to get your truck handling well at both ends so you usually have to pick one end and say, okay here is where we are going to be good, then you work on passing on that end of the racetrack. You want to get your truck as good as you can on that part and take advantage of it when the opportunity presents itself."
What do you remember about your NASCAR Busch Series win at Phoenix?
"I remember that we were really good that day. The car was awesome to drive. It turned in the middle really good, we had good forward bite which always plays a big role there. I was able to set cars up in turns three and four. I could get the car to the bottom, get back on the gas and work by someone. I tend to like that end of the racetrack better for passing. It was just a really good day for us, one of the better race cars I have driven and it was just a lot of fun. We led a bunch of laps and the guys did a great job with the car."
