RICK CRAWFORD-14-Circle Bar Motel & RV Park Ford F-150 (Finished 2nd)

WERE THE FOUR TIRES MIKE BLISS TOOK ON VERSUS THE TWO YOU TOOK ON MAKE THE DIFFERENCE ON THE FINAL RESTART?

"No, I really don't think that would have been the answer. Me and Ted got hung up on that restart and we both got slid up into that third groove down there and there really ain't no third groove down there, so we had to back out of it and lost a lot of momentum. When we got bottled up there, we lost some momentum and I got Ted in Turn 3; he slid up a little bit. I think between the 1 and myself, if we kept the 16 behind us, I don't think he could pass us. And that's been the story all year in the truck series. It's hard to pass. I feel like the aero package has a lot to with it, but you've got a lot of good teams out there and they're real equal. Look at the qualifying difference this weekend and it'll tell you a little bit from last year. It's a lot closer this year and you have a lot more teams up top and running for a championship."

HOW HARD IS IT BEING THAT CLOSE TO A VICTORY WHEN YOU HAVEN'T WON IN FOUR YEARS?

"Winning is everything, but also having a lot of respect and enjoying what you do. The guitar is what I miss most of all. I'm not planning on retiring this year, so I'll be back next year to get that guitar; I'm going to get one before I quit. Me and Ray Stonkus, my crew chief, talked it over several times and if we can keep bringing that Circle Bar Ford back to the track and keep being competitive week-in and week-out, one day we're going to win a race and we're not going to be stopped. I keep looking at it that way and he makes my job easy when the truck is right. We've got Ernie Elliott engines under the hood and Town & Country Ford in Nashville helping us this weekend and I appreciate that. When you do things like that and have people helping you like that, that really makes you want to go out and run good, which we don't need that incentive but we're proud to carry that name."
