Lofton Heads To Nashville With Momentum
* Strong from start to finish... Justin Lofton and the No. 7 RHR team put together a strong run at Pocono Raceway last weekend. Lofton ran within the top-10 throughout both practice sessions, ending the final run within the top-five. Following qualifying on Saturday, he notched a solid seventh place starting position for the 125-mile race. Once under green flag conditions, Lofton held his own, showing within the top-10 for the majority of the event. Two green-white-checkered flag restarts at the end of the race added not only a few laps to the race, but drama for the Mark Rette led No. 7 team, as Lofton took the final restart on lap 53 from the second position. He held his own through the final two laps around the 2.5-mile track, crossing the stripe in the fifth position. The result moved him two spots in the point standings, from 14th to 12th.
* Return run... Lofton will be making his second start of the season on the 1.33-mile concrete at Nashville Superspeedway this Saturday. During the circuit's first visit to Nashville in April, he started 10th and finished 20th. He also has prior experience at the Lebanon race track, having raced there in 2008 in ARCA competition. He started that race from the sixth position and finished fifth.
* Band together... Lofton, along with fellow Camping World Truck Series competitors, will take part in an autograph session following the final practice session on Saturday. From 2 to 3 PM, drivers will sign autographs in the main fan zone area outside of the racetrack, for fans with armbands. In order to receive an armband, fans are asked to donate canned goods benefiting the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Donations are part of the ongoing effort to raise awareness of the floods across Tennessee earlier this year.
Justin Lofton on racing at Nashville Superspeedway "We have been running really well the last couple of weekends and we want to keep it going. I really enjoy racing at Nashville Superspeedway, and I want to put on an impressive showing for our team."
Crew Chief Mark Rette on Nashville Superspeedway "I'm ready to go to Nashville and excited to ride the momentum that we have built the last couple of weeks. Last weekend, we showed that we got the mechanical troubles, which were out of our hands, out of the way. Justin has learned a lot about these trucks, and how these races unfold since our first run at Nashville, and I am ready to see what we can do this week. "
Equipment Information Lofton will race chassis RHR110 at Nashville. It is the same truck that Lofton drove to a career-best qualifying effort of fourth in Gateway, and a career-best finish of third in Dover. ###
