Chaffin wants to duplicate last week's win in hometown
Inspiration from the Boss: "I wouldn't have a career at this level if it weren't for Bobby Hamilton. I'll be quite frank about it. I've been around racing a long time and have won a lot of races over the years. But, at this level, I had kind of peaked out and was probably on the downside. I couldn't get the really good rides. Bobby and I have known each other for a long time. He gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. He gives me great trucks. He's an awesome driver. He's one of the top three or four racing guys in the United States 0x2022 I'm talking crew chiefs, owners, everything. He eats and breathes racing. He knows it inside and out. Last week we were just good enough to beat him, and if I'm good enough to beat him then I'm good enough to win the race. I gauge my success how I'm running against him. It's not that I'm just trying to beat the boss, but I know he's good. He does a great job at setting the bar for the rest of us and if I can get up to him and run there, I've got a shot at winning the race."
Slow Beginning: "Racing and life comes fast and easy to a lot of people, but my whole life things have come slow. I started in four-cylinders, and every time I moved up a division, it took me a while to win a race. Once I started winning it seemed like I was able to win all the time. I don't assume that I'm going to be able to win at this level 0x2022 let's be real about it. But, at the same time, once you've established that you can win, your confidence is up. My guys working on the Dickies Dodge work a little bit harder because they know, 'Hey Chad can go out here and get the job done.' We're going to continue to work harder on this Dickies Dodge. When they're building these trucks they build them better each time. When they paint them they put a little less paint on them so they'll be a little lighter. It's just a snowball effect. When they think their driver can get the job done, everything gets better."
* Chad is racing Rambo this weekend at Nashville. It is a brand new in-house chassis from BHR.
* Chad's win last week at IRP moved him to a career-high fourth in the NCTS point standings.
* Last year in Nashville Chad won the pole and considering he has qualified in the top-10 ten consecutive weeks, he's a shoe-in to get it again.
Nashville Preview: "Nashville Superspeedway is a great race track. I like racing on the two groove concrete track. It fits my driving style. The Dickies Racing Team is on a roll right now and I would love to capitalize on that at Nashville. We continue to be fast off the hauler and as long as we don't run into bad luck, I think we will be there at the end Saturday afternoon. Nashville is a homecoming for me and the whole BHR organization. We have a great fan base in the Nashville area and I look forward to putting on a great show for the fans."
