Nashville, Tenn...Earning a fifth place finish at the Federated Auto Parts 200. Friday, August 8 at Nashville Superspeedway once again allowed Brendan Gaughan and Orleans Racing to retake the lead in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point's battle.

"This is the biggest lead we have had so far," smiled Gaughan, who has sat at the top twice before. "The first time we led by one, the second time we were tied, but had the most wins and now we are ahead by seven. Hopefully, the old saying about the third time being the charm will work and we will be able to keep our Orleans Dodge out in front of the field for the rest of the season."

Gridded in the Number 2 spot with a qualifying time of 30.630, Gaughan was ready to power his No. 62 Orleans Dodge off the Startline in typical fashion. Only this was one of those times when things definitely didn't go quite as the Orleans team planned.

"We were first in 'Happy Hour' said Gaughan. "But when the race began, we were incredibly tight and it was all I could do to get it around the track. Perseverance was definitely the key word for the team this race. We pitted twice under yellow and they worked both times to get me running right and finally by the end we were running pretty good and on the last few laps, I was able to get past a few trucks to end up 5th."

With 15 races complete in this year's 25-race schedule, Gaughan has scored four wins, nine top fives and 12 top tens. "We're certainly pleased with where we are now," adds Gaughan and are looking forward to the remainder of the sea son being even better."
