Bobby Hamilton Jr. on his past success at Nashville: "The very first truck race we ran at Nashville we finished fourth and we were pretty average that day. The second truck race we ran at Nashville was the time my dad won. The two of us ran first and second all race long and it looked like it was going to come down to me and him for the win, I fell back to fourth and he was fortunate enough to win the race so that was a pretty special day. I can remember that last handful of laps, him passing me and racing with me. It was a bitter defeat, but it was a sweet defeat at the same time. I was mad because I should have won the race but it was still pretty cool in Victory Lane because he's tried so hard for so many years to win at Nashville - to win one of those guitars is pretty special."
Bobby Hamilton Jr. on racing at Nashville Superspeedway: "I like Nashville Superspeedway; it's my type of racetrack. It's a really fast track, and everyone knows that I like them fast. At the same time, it has short track characteristics because you really have to cut through the center. I've always had good equipment at this track. The minute you walk through the gate, your confidence is up because it's just somewhere you look forward to going to. The hometown crowd really makes you feel good too because you walk through the gate and everybody knows you. All the Cup guys aren't there so you're the big cheese. It's really enjoyable. All your family and friends are there, people who you grew up with and watched you race. I have a ton of fans who come up to me and talk about the days when they raced against me at Highland Rim or at the Nashville Fairgrounds track. That's pretty cool that the guys remember you and still take the time to come out here and talk with you. So, like I said it's one of the most enjoyable weekends, it's almost like going home and running the late models."
Bobby Hamilton Sr. on the BHR Open House: "We are having our annual BHR Open House in conjunction with Nashville Superspeedway on Thursday night (August 10th). It is the first time we have opened the doors to the public and we are hoping that a lot of race fans will be there. I have received tremendous support from cancer survivors, race fans and people who are supportive of our community so this is one way for me to try to give back to our community and gives me a chance to see them face to face. There is a minimum $5 cover charge at the door, but all the proceeds are going to the American Cancer Society. We have been spreading the word to people all over our community so we hope to have a huge turnout. Fastenal is going to be selling apparel and will have a lot of displays from their vendors for people to try tools that are sold in their stores across the country. Dodge is sending a remote control track and the community is chipping in a lot of prizes to give away. We are doing pit stop practice so people can watch that, we're playing games against the pit crews and doing an autograph session with a little help from my NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series friends. It will be a big hit and we hope people come out and support the cause."
