Kyle Busch dominates Bristol Truck race from pole

Kyle Busch dominated Wednesday night's UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway for his 49th career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory.

Busch overcame a speeding penalty on pit road after Stage 2, advancing from 17th to the lead in less than 50 laps.

Although a late caution flag in set up a green-white-checkered finish, it didn’t change the outcome for the No. 46.

Busch ended his strong performance by winning the rain-delayed CWTS race on Wednesday night for his fifth NASCAR trucks series win at the .533-mile speedway.

Busch was fastest in practice and started from the pole, capturing both stage wins before putting together his charge after the final set of pit stops. Busch was caught speeding on pit road and was forced to restart the final stage on Lap 199 in 17th-place.

He moved up to ninth by Lap 140 and was third by Lap 155. Busch passed Crafton for the top spot on Lap 166 and remained out front the rest of the way.

Crafton finished second with John Hunter Nemechek coming home third. Grant Enfinger and Ben Rhodes completed the top five.

“I appreciate the fans hanging with us in the race tonight with the rain,” Busch said. “I came up through the field and learned some things that I might be able to use the rest of the week. I knew having to come up through the pack I would have to try a different way up through the field.”

Johnny Sauter, Christopher Bell, Parker Kligerman, Austin Cindric and Brandon Jones rounded out the top 10.

Stage 2

After starting Stage 2 in third place after teammates Cindric and Chase Briscoe stayed out during the caution, Kyle Busch was able to pass Matt Crafton on Lap 105 and go on to win his second stage of the UNOH 200.

It was the third consecutive race Busch has led the first two stages of the races he’s entered.

Crafton was able to make an aggressive pass by Cindric on Lap 65 to take the lead for the first time in the race and remained out front until Busch regained the top spot.

Cindric finished third with Ben Rhodes and Christopher Bell rounding out the top five. Noah Gragson, Sauter, Haley, Enfinger and John Hunter Nemechek the rest of the top 10.

Stage 1

Busch led the field to the green flag to start the race after a long rain delay kept the UNOH 200 from starting until after 10:30 p.m. ET.

Busch kept comfortable leads between 1.5-2.0 seconds throughout the first 55 Lap segment of the race. KBM teammate Noah Gragson finished second with Matt Crafton third.

Christopher Bell gave KBM its third truck in the top four with Grant Enfinger fifth. Finishing sixth through 10th were Brandon Jones, Ben Rhodes, Johnny Sauter, Justin Haley and Parker Kligerman.

The first stage was slowed twice by caution with Josh Reaume bringing out the first yellow flag of the race on Lap 25 when he made hard contact in Turn 4. T.J. Bell brought out the second caution of the race after he spun on Lap 33 after contact with Stewart Friesen. He was able to continue.

This was the second consecutive race that Busch won the first stage of the race.
