JACK SPRAGUE , NO 16 CHEVY TRUCKS SILVER POST RACE PRESS CONFERENCE:

"We just didn't have enough for Dennis tonight. Running up on the No. 23 (early in the race) didn't have anything to do with it. We just didn't have enough for him tonight. He was definitely better than we were and I wasn't going to race him with anything but respect. When he first got to me, I knew he was a little bit better than me and I was going to let him go but then he dropped back just a little. I don't know if he was getting a little aero tight behind me or what, but he also is very smart, and he isn't going to get impatient and do something stupid. I just didn't have enough; we couldn't quite get it done. But like I said, if I have to finish second, he is the guy I want to finish second to.

"We pretty much annihilated everyone else. If Dennis wasn't here, I would have looked pretty good (said in jest-chuckles) but he was here. It was pretty evident we had the best trucks tonight and I am pretty proud of that for our teams and Chevrolet. I could keep him in my sights but I couldn't get to him. I just couldn't do a think with Dennis, he could get about a half of straight ahead of me and I couldn't see third so I knew I was ok there. I was just trying everything I could try on the track, but couldn't find a place where I was any faster.

"Congratulations to Dennis, his team owner David Dollar and their whole team. That truck was awesome through the middle.

"More cautions wouldn't have made any real difference with our truck. We wouldn't have been able to get much more out of our truck. If it was anyone else but Dennis, I could have hit him on the restart (chuckles, said in jest) but I couldn't hit him.

"Tonight it was a good track for Chevrolet. I have four poles here and one win. One year I was leading with a lead and the yellow came out for a bungee cord on the track with five laps to go and lost that one. But have been close here several times.

"But I think the guys who are always good here through the years, ran good tonight. Musgrave has won races here and he finished third. Hornaday has one here and he finished fourth. I don't know if Setzer has won here before but he has run good here before and he won here. I think the guys that run good on flat miles ran good here tonight. It was pretty slippery out there tonight and guys that run good on slippery race tracks ran good. I don't know how we ended up with only four trucks on the lead lap, we must have been lapping them under green because we didn't have any yellows to speak of, unless someone got in trouble in the pits, I don't know how we did it. But it was a good night."
