RON HORNADAY , NO. 33 CAMPING WORLD SILVERADO, QUALIFIED 14TH, FINISHED 2ND:
ON TONIGHT'S RACE:
"I had an awesome truck. Rick Ren (crew chief) and these guys are unbelievable. Camping World, Chevrolet and everybody that is supporting this thing. To get spun out and come back by running this truck as hard as we can. I thought I had something for (Johnny) Benson and I just burned the brakes up on this thing trying to caught back up for a stupid thing I did earlier. Other than that, a great run for the Camping World Chevrolet. I have to thank Snap On for giving us the right tools to work on this things. Everybody involved. It is awesome-it is a lot of fun.
ON LAP TWO SPIN:
"Well, the tires were low and all that stuff and I might have come down on Willie (Allen). Heck, I was back on the gas before he spun again. It looked like Willie just lost the backend and got the quarter panel of our Camping World Chevrolet. Man, is that thing fun to drive. I just had to burn it up to try to run with those guys. I didn't know what lap it was. They weren't telling me anything, I was just passing trucks. I found out it was just lap 60 and I had already lost my brakes and I was in trouble. I was trying to save it toward the end there and we had that yellow, I had been putting front brake in to it to try and get the pedal back. When I got Johnny, I locked the front brakes up for the last two laps. I got enough rear in there to stay in front of Todd (Bodine). Rick and all the guys awesome job, to drive that Camping World Chevrolet."
ON ANY DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK DURING SPIN:
"If it did, it hurt it the right way. It was fast. I don't think there was anything I could have done any different. These guys set the truck up really good. I just had to drive to hard to catch him. Restarted 24th and they started up front. When you are there, you can just ride and save your brakes. We didn't have a chance to save anything. We had to use everything we had. The truck is in one piece."
ON HAVING ANYTHING FOR BENSON ON RESTART WITH FOUR TO GO:
"If I did, I would have passed him. No, like I said, I burned my brakes up and I didn't need to see that yellow. Coming to the white flag, I actually got the brakes in to the rear and it started cutting really good and I pulled away from Todd. Who knows, another five laps I could have got him; another five laps I could have crashed. So I am happy with second coming out of Milwaukee. We have a great finish and a great average and I can't wait to drive another Kevin Harvick, Inc. Chevrolet tomorrow in the Busch Series."
