YOU MADE YOUR FIRST CAREER CRAFTSMAN TRUCK SERIES START AT MILWAUKEE IN 1996 AND TODAY YOU PICKED UP YOUR THIRD CAREER WIN. "This is pretty special. This is, like you said, this first place for myself to race and the place that Power Stroke Diesel announced coming onboard last season. This is awesome. We won every practice session, we won qualifying, we won the race, we led the most laps and we won the $10,000, and we couldn't ask for much more."
TALK ABOUT THE FINAL RESTART. "It was the same old deal. It's just like at Memphis. We got aero tight when we got within five truck lengths of him and I knew my only shot was a green-white-checkered (finish). We came down for the green, the restart package, and I've been harping on Bob (Keselowski) last year to give me great restart transmissions and we can win races. He did it today. It was so good with the Ernie Elliott motors on the restart. I was able to get a run at it him, get underneath him and then we went by Craftsman Truck style."
JON WOOD-50-U.S. Navy Racing Ford F-150 (Finished 9th)
"We had a decent truck. I messed up in Turn 4 on the white flag lap. I was trying to get by Pressley, and got the truck out of shape. Still, to home in a top 10 is something we needed today. We were actually better than a lot of the guys that finished in front of us in the beginning of the race, but I missed a shift taking the green flag and fell back a good ways. I was still able to get past those guys and we ran in the top 10 all day, which is something we really needed to do. We were sixth or seventh all day and that's really all you can ask for."
DID THE LONG GREEN-FLAG RUN HELP YOU TO ESTABLISH A RHYTHM? "It made it a lot easier to run at my own pace; I didn't have to keep looking in my rearview mirror to see if somebody was riding on my bumper. Everybody got kinda spread out, so it made it easier to find the line that my truck ran best on."
HOW MUCH BUMPING AND BANGING WAS THERE ON THE FINAL RESTART? "There was a lot in front of me. For some reason, our truck wouldn't go on the restarts. It just took so long to come that I watched a lot of those guys bump and bang in front of me. If there had been a wreck on the last lap, I think we would have moved up a number of spots because those guys were bunched up really tight and driving really aggressive."
RICK BICKLE-15-Dickies Ford F-150 (Finished 11th)
"We came kinda close there on that second to last set of tires, and I don't know what happened on that third set; we didn't change a thing and it went back to being a dump truck. I don't know what we have wrong on the front end of that thing, but it just doesn't turn. It just used the front tires and the more you give, the worse it gets. In the beginning there, it was horrible."
YOU PITTED UNDER THE FIRST CAUTION AND THAT PUT YOU ON A DIFFERENT PIT STRATEGY FROM THE REST OF THEE FIELD. "We wanted to try something to give us track position, but the racing gods, they haven't been with us too good for the last two races, expect for last weekend's finish. We've overcome some much adversity the last two races trying to get here and we just missed it today. The crew chief being in the hospital and being sick all weekend, I just know one thing, I want to drive, I don't want to play drive crew chief and driver much. Even though the young guys on this team do good, it's just hard to beat experience from guys that have been around forever. We'll get this Dickies team turned around and hopefully go to Kansas and be a little better."
DO YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT TRUCK FOR NEXT WEEK, OR WILL YOU MAKE IT THREE IN A ROW FOR THIS ONE? "We've got a different truck for there. This thing is in one piece, but I just don't think it would be fast enough at Kansas. This truck wouldn't have any scratches on it, expect a couple of the guys decided to change lanes at the last second going into the corner, especially on that last restart. One certain blue truck out there got me a couple of times. If there was anybody that could have screwed me up today, the 43 truck was good at it ."
