Milwaukee...Running a qualifying time of 30.033 (119.868 mph) earned Brendan Gaughan and Orleans Racing the outside pole for the GNC Live Well 200 at the famed Milwaukee Mile, Saturday, June 28.

"The guys made a big brake adjustment," said Gaughan, who drives the No. 62 Orleans Dodge, "and it really helped us drive in. It actually didn't feel like that good a lap and normally I'm notoriously bad on first laps. But this was obviously a good one."

This Round of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will mark the second time Gaughan has started on the outside pole. The last time he started in the Number 2 position was in Las Vegas last season.

"Starting in the front row gives you a decent view for the start," says Gaughan. Hopefully, we can beat pole sitter Terry Cook out and stop him from taking another win at this track. This is a tough place to pass and pit stops are all important. We started here in 8th last year and finished 4th. Hopefully, this time we can finish first."

Currently ranked in fourth in the point's battle, Gaughan's major thrust is to beat leader Bobby Hamilton. "We are 108 out of the lead and 25 points out of second," says Gaughan. "If we can earn some bonus points for leading and finish ahead of 1 and 2 in the standings, it will really help us close the gap and that is all important when you are running for the championship."
