Travis Kittleson Hoping to Make His Mark at Michigan
Bob Steele Chevrolet on Board as Primary Sponsor
BROOKLYN, MI -- Travis Kittleson and Morgan-Dollar Motorsports (MDM) are teaming up once again for the 10th event on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) schedule when the trucks take to the Michigan International Speedway (MIS) Saturday afternoon.
Kittleson will be behind the wheel of the No. 46 Bob Steele Chevrolet, and will be making his first start at the 2-mile D-shaped oval. Kittleson also piloted the No. 46 machine at the Kansas Speedway, but an early wreck relegated the team to a disappointing 36th place finish. Kittleson is, however, looking forward to heading to the Irish Hills of Michigan and securing a solid run for MDM.
"I am pumped up and ready to go racing again, after an unfortunately short race in Kansas when I wrecked the truck early," Kittleson said. "I know Morgan-Dollar Motorsports is putting together a great piece for me, and I am really excited. I have never been to Michigan before, so it will take some time to get acclimated to the track, and then get in the routine of running steady, consistent laps."
The 27-year old Cross Plains, WI native is also looking to tackle MIS with some of the seat time he acquired while running the NCTS race at Kansas in April.
"I am just really looking forward to getting the laps under my belt and getting the experience," Kittleson stated. "Michigan is such a fast race track, and Kansas was pretty much the same way. I was able to learn quite a few things from my track time in Kansas, like getting better control of using the brake pedal to carry speed through the corner and just turning laps and acquiring as much experience as possible. I am running the NASCAR Busch Series race at St. Louis next month for Joe Gibbs Racing so getting the opportunity with Morgan-Dollar Motorsports will only help me prepare for that race that much more."
