"The No. 29 Power Stroke® Diesel/Oil Mateâ"¢ Ford was a great truck, but we were at a huge deficit with track position," said Cook. "You have to qualify well at a track like Bakersfield and rely on your guys to help you make up positions because passing at Mesa Marin is difficult."

"Our front tire changer, Steve Poniatowski got extremely sick the night before," said Cook. "After going to the emergency room for dehydration from being sick, he couldn't change tires. Our truck chief, Ron Keselowski, stepped up and filled the bill for this race even though he hasn't pitted a race vehicle in years."

"We ended up having problems throughout the course of the race," stated Cook. "After losing several track positions, I was driving the truck really hard trying to make up for some spots we lost. I ended up spinning the Power Stroke® DIESEL/Oil Mate Ford around because I was driving it too hard. Luckily, I was able to hold on to it without hitting anything and we kept on going."

"We garnered our third Top-10 of the season and brought the truck home in one piece with a few cuts and bruises," said Cook. "We were disappointed because we felt like we had a truck to win the race. We'll take the Top-10 finish and put this one behind us to focus our efforts on Martinsville which is another short track that definitely favors the K-Automotive program."
