Memphis, Tenn...Battling his way throughout the entire O'Reilly 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park earned Brendan Gaughan and Orleans Racing a top 10 finish at Round 8 of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

"It wasn't as good as we wanted," said Gaughan, who finished in the Number 8 spot, "but it was definitely better than last year. "Our No. 62 Orleans Dodge was great today. I tried to keep it as clean as I could, which is what you need to do when you are running for a championship. And while naturally, we would have liked to have won, things could have been a lot worse."

Qualifying in 11th, Gaughan was extremely pleased with their performance in "Happy Hour". "We were running our No. 5 truck," he explained. "And it definitely fit the bill for this track. We were third fastest in full race trim. Our entire team really had things together."

When the Green Flag fell, Gaughan was ready. Memphis offers good old fashioned short track racing," he explains, "and fans got to see a lot of it during the race. Pulling off the line in 11th, he ran the first few laps taking it somewhat easy. "We were a tick loose and I knew if I bided my time, it would come in," he continues. "And that is exactly what happened. "After a few laps our Orleans Dodge was right there."

Beginning his charge to the front, Gaughan got up as high as second. "Unfortunately, I got aced out and lost a few positions," he said. "So we had to settle for 8th. All in all, it was a good race and we will be ready to get a top five at Milwaukee next weekend."
