LAGASSE RECOVERS FOR SOLID FINISH AT MARTINSVILLE
JTG Racing's Scott Lagasse Jr gained another solid finish behind the wheel of the #20 Nicholson Group Ford F-150 with 23rd in the Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia today.
After qualifying in 30th position Lagasse showed solid speed in progressing up the order over the course of the event.
For the majority of the race Lagasse steered clear of the carnage that the tight half-mile Martinsville venue is renowned for to find his way inside the top 20 with 50 laps remaining in the race.
Unfortunately, Lagasse's good run was hampered on lap 233 when he was tapped by Chrissy Wallace in turn three bringing about the 13th caution period of the race.
Despite his late race spin Lagasse continued to push on and achieve a commendable result with a 23rd place finish.
The finish elevated Lagasse two spots in the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings into 23rd position, just behind fellow Ford F-150 drivers Colin Braun, Travis Kvapil and Jon Wood.
Dennis Setzer won today's Kroger 250 following a green-white-checkered finish ahead of Matt Crafton and Rick Crawford.
The next race in the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks Series is the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 at the Kansas Speedway on April 26.
Scott Lagasse Jr - #20 Nicholson Group Ford F-150
"We had a pretty good F-150 out there today," said Lagasse.
"It was a typical Martinsville race with a lot going on out there. For the most part we were able to stay out of it but right at the end there we got turned around.
"We got back going and came up the order again. I feel we could have got a better result for Nicholson Group and Ford today but the spin but us back a bit.
"Everyone at JTG Racing is doing a great job and we are improving this truck from race to race."
