Scot Walters and the Red Man/Brewco Motorsports team hope to continue their rebound from the disappointment at Memphis two weeks ago, with another top 10 performance at the Martinsville Speedway. The Red Man team finished an impressive 9th in the Ram Tough 200 in Madison, Illinois this past week. It was the team's third top 10 finish of the 1998 season.

It also helped move them ever closer to the season long goal of a top 15 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings. The team came into the race at Gateway International 231 points out of fifteenth. Following the race they had cut the deficit to just 171 points.

Scot Walters and the Red Man/Brewco Motorsports team are showing that it just takes time and experience to improve. Through the first half of the 1998 season the Red Man team had an average finish of 20.42. The team has stepped up to the plate in the first eight races of the second half of the year and posted an average finish of 17.37. "It's something to be proud of," said Walters. "The team is starting to improve every week and it is only going to get better. We learn every week something new to make ourselves better. We knew coming into this year that we would have good days and bad. The thing you have to try and do is never get down or give up."

Scot Walters and the Red Man/Brewco Motorsports team recorded their third Cintas Rookie of the Race Award in the Ram Tough 200 last weekend at Gateway International Speedway. The other races in which Walters was the top finishing rookie were the Tempus Resorts 300k at Pikes Peak International Raceway and the NAPACARE 200 at Nazareth Speedway.
