Johnny Sauter, former Cup Series regular drove the # 07 ASILimited / Akzo Nobel / Spectrum Metal Finishing Chevrolet for the first time this season to a 23rd place finish after starting 33rd.
The day was typical short track racing, with beating and banging all over the track. Johnny took the truck from a tough starting place to finishing as the last truck on the lead lap. Veteran driver and crew chief Butch Miller commented "Working with Johnny was a pleasure he is a solid race car driver and provided excellent feedback, hopefully we can build on this for the future."
The Saturday's Kroger 200 was the 20th time series drivers competed at Martinsville Speedway known as the "Paper Clip" shaped oval. The Martinsville NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event marked round 21 of 25 on the season. Martinsville is one of the oldest tracks on the circuit and embraces the roots of NASCAR. The speedway celebrated its 60 year of operation in 2007 and is the oldest track today on the NASCAR Nextel Cup Circuit, beginning operations in 1947.
