JACK SPRAGUE , NO. 16 CHEVY TRUCKS SILVERADO, STARTED 25TH, FINISHED 2ND:
"I had some pressure from Shane (Hmiel) there at the end but he has always raced me really clean. I have stuck up for him in the past when others didn't so he doesn't mess with me and I don't mess with him. I was a little worried about it because I wanted to win this race today. I have a lot of respect for Shane, a lot of people don't but I do and he does me so it worked out that both of us got a good finish out of the today. He is just a young kid trying to make his way, he is an aggressive driver and he has a lot of talent.
"Our Chevy Trucks Silverado was awesome there at the end. It wasn't very good in the first segment but Chris (Showalter) and the guys adjusted on it and it got better and better. We had a great pit strategy but we had a little problem in the pits on the second stop (NOTE: lugnut fell off left rear during left side only tire change) so it didn't quite work out for us. But our truck was really fast there at the end. I didn't have a shot at Bobby (Hamilton, race winner) because it was wet down there and there was stay drive everywhere.
"But finishing second from starting 25th was a good day for our Chevy Trucks team. I really wanted to win the thing but Bobby had a really good truck so congratulations to Bobby and his team. I love racing with him and have a lot of respect for his talent as a driver. I really would have liked to race with him those last two laps but I wasn't as good as I needed to be in one and two. Three and four was wet.
"The truck was really good there at the end, might have been even a little better than the one we won with last year. I never dreamed it would be that good. The strategy was to give me two tires when everyone else got four to give me track position but when the lugnut fell off, we didn't gain quite as much as we had wanted to and dropped back in the pack and worked our way back up through there.
"Bobby had a really good truck. The only real shot I had was the green white checked but he got away from me a little bit and I didn't want to lose second to Shane but risking something in three and four where it was wet. It was a good day for us and we will take this and go to Charlotte."
SHANE HMIEL , NO. 15 BALLEW MOTORSPORTS SILVERADO, STARTED 5TH, FINISHED 3RD:
"I thought I might have something for Jack (Sprague) and Bobby (Hamilton) there near the end but with about 40 to go, it just got too loose to hand on to. I really thought we had a truck we could win with but Bobby had something and so did Jack. I thought a Chevrolet was going to get in victory lane, I thought Jack might have been able to get Bobby there on the green-white-checkered but I don't think NASCAR cleaned the track as good as they should have and it made for one-groove racing those last laps. But this is a good finish for our Billy Ballew Silverado team and I was glad to be here, it is a fun track to race on and I will be back next year."
