Deborah On Mansfield:
Deborah is coming off a disappointing 34th place finish last time out at the Gateway International Raceway.
"I have had two bad runs in a row and I need to go into Mansfield this week and turn that around. I did go and watch the race at Mansfield last year but these will be my first laps around the track. It looks like a fun little track and the crowd last year was just incredible. The guys on my team have been giving me great trucks each week and we have just run into some bad luck here lately. I am looking for a solid run this week and to bring this No. 8 Dodge home in one piece with a good finish."
Deborah Goes Back To School:
Deborah has been busy the last few weeks visiting school children in the Nashville, TN and Bowling Green, KY areas. She visited an elementary school in Lebanon, TN where she spent time with the fourth grade class as well as speaking to the seventh and eighth graders as part of a job fair. She discussed with the students various career opportunities available in the motorsports industry.
She also visited with a local fourth grade class in Bowling Green where she spoke about the safety equipment used in the sport. She shared her helmet, Hans device, fire suit and gloves with the students and highlighted the importance of safety in her career as well as all others.
Finally, Deborah made an appearance last week on the Peabody award winning Channel One News -- the leading source of news and information for young people. She was part of the May 5th daily news that is broadcast out daily to nearly eight million students and 400,000 educators in nearly 12,000 middle and high schools across the country. She discussed her career as a race car driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and displayed her talents as a news anchor.
No. 8 Dodge at Mansfield:
Deborah will be racing "Trix" this weekend at Mansfield. This is the same truck that she raced earlier this season at Martinsville and the season opener in Daytona.
Career at Mansfield:
For the second event in a row, Deborah will be making her career debut at a track -- this time at the .44-mile bullring oval of the Mansfield Motorsports Speedway.
