David Comments on Mansfield Motorsports Speedway:

"Racing at Mansfield is a lot of fun. We ended the inaugural race there last year with a green/white/checkered. Sometimes green/white/checkered flag endings work out to your advantage and sometimes they don't. In that particular race, it didn't end up working out to my advantage. I was running fourth when the green/white/checkered came out and I ended up finishing 9th. Somebody got me (at the restart) and opened up the lane and I couldn't get back."

"They pack that place -- you would think we are the NEXTEL Cup Series putting on a show there. You see 250,000 people at a NEXTEL Cup race and I know they don't seat 250,000 seats at Mansfield but it's like its 250,000 people because there is no room for anyone else. They treat us good there and it's pretty cool. It's a fun race to be in -- it's a short track so there will be some beating and banging -- trading paint, just like the fans like it and I like it too. That's where we come from; short track racing is our roots. It will be an exciting race. Hopefully we can bring our Spears Manufacturing Silverado in victory lane or at least a top-5 finish there this year."

David comments on his 13th place point standings after five races:

"To get yourself back in the top-10 in points you need to win. A lot of times I don't worry about the points --Even though we've been competitive at every one of the races and just had bad luck or something happened. The fact of the matter is we are 13th in points and 200 points behind. The only way to fix that is to win. We are not going to look at the points - we are just going to go to every race and try to win. If we can't win, we need to get the best we can get out of that particular day. The points will take care of themselves. Right now it's so early in the season I just need to win. I need to win for Wayne & Connie Spears, I need to win for Chevrolet Silverado, I need a win for my team and winning fixes everything. So that's what we are focusing on. --We've always focused on winning but it seems the first five races haven't played into our hands but we can turn it around by winning."
