The Kroger 225 at Louisville Motor Speedway featured all the beating and banging short-track racing is famous for, not to mention 12 cautions for 75 laps and a furious battle for the win. Jay Sauter fought past Mike Bliss after a late-race restart and ran to victory. Mike Wallace ended up second, with Jimmy Hensley, Kevin Harvick and Jack Sprague rounding out the top-5. Bliss spun on the final lap and ended up 11th. With his fifth-place effort, Sprague unofficially took over the topspot in the standings, after points leader Greg Biffle limped home to a 14th-place finish.
