ERIK DARNELL -- No. 99 Northern Tool + Equipment Ford F-150 (Finished 2nd)
-- "It was a pretty good race for us. It was our first time out with new crew chief Matt Puccia and all his guys and they did a great job all weekend. We struggled in practice yesterday and kind of threw some things at it hoping to get to qualify today, but we didn't. I think everything we did to the truck showed that they made the right changes. Our Northern Tool + Equipment Ford was really good during the race. I think we were just a little bit off from where Hornaday was. We were close and were hoping for a caution at the end and didn't get it, but, all in all, second place is a pretty good finish."
DID YOU KNOW YOUR TRUCK WAS SMOKING AT THE END?
"Honestly, no. I'm just gonna assume it was the front splitter on the truck. I think my crew chief said something about that hitting the track early on, but I was unaware of it."
HOW FRUSTRATING IS IT TO HAVE SUCH A GOOD TRUCK BUT SEE THE FIRST-PLACE TRUCK JUST PULL AWAY LIKE THAT?
"It's definitely a little bit frustrating to know that both of us were as good as we were today and Hornaday was still just kind of driving away from us. Like Mike said, once he got out there, he stayed even. I don't know if he was just kind of riding and messing with us or if that's just as fast as he was. I was hoping for a caution at the end so we could have gotten up there and raced with him and tried to give him all we could. I think it would have been a good race if we had a yellow toward the end."
