Career at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:
This will be Chad Chaffin's six career start at the track in Las Vegas. In addition to two previous starts at the track in the Craftsman Truck Series he also has three starts in the Busch Series to his credit.
Chad On Vegas:
"Well first of all, everyone loves to go to Las Vegas -- both for the racing and the glitz and glamour. Secondly, this Wyler Racing team is starting to hit full stride and after our last few runs I am excited as can be to get back behind the wheel of our No. 60 Toyota Tundra. Things really turned around for us at Bristol and we have had very strong trucks since then and last week we finally got the finish that we all deserve. Las Vegas is a great place for us to keep these strong runs going and better our finish of last week. The track in Vegas is a fantastic 1.5-mile oval that rivals no other tracks of its kind. It is wide with many grooves and provides for great passing opportunities. We have really had to play the track position game at the tracks here lately because it is so hard to pass at places like Loudon and Richmond. But if your truck is better than the guy in front of you in Vegas there is plenty of room to get around them. We have been strong right off the trailer of late and I know the guys on this Wyler Racing team will provide me with the same thing again this week. A win in Las Vegas would be a cool and fun thing for all of us and that is what we are shooting for."
Vegas Hospitality Partner:
Chad and his Wyler Racing team will be enjoying their stay at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino while in Las Vegas. Chad will also be joining other drivers for an autograph session at the Stratosphere from 6:30 -- 7:30 p.m. on Friday night.
"This is the second year in a row that I have stayed at the Stratosphere and it is a really nice place. The people there are just great and provide awesome hospitality to our race teams. It is nice to come into a town such as Vegas and go to a place that makes you feel right at home -- sure does make things easier. We will be carrying the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino logo on our decklid this weekend and we look to put on a good show for them to show our appreciation for their hospitality."
* Chad will be making his 77th career start this week in the Craftsman Truck Series and his 10th start for Wyler Racing and the No. 60 Toyota Tundra. Last week he earned his best finish in nine races with the Wyler Racing team as he came home with a ninth place finish in New Hampshire.
* Chad is only $25,569 away from reaching the $2 Million mark in career earnings in NASCAR (includes his winnings in the Craftsman Truck Series, Busch Series and Cup Series).
* Last week in Loudon, Chad earned his second top-five qualifying effort of the season with his fourth place start. Both of his top-five starts have come in two of the last three races with the Wyler Racing team -- Bristol (3rd) and New Hampshire (4th).
