KEVIN HAMLIN TO DRIVE TRUCK SERIES RACE AT KANSAS

(Concord, NC) -- After two strong runs in the ARCA RE/MAX Series for car owner Ken Schrader, Kevin Hamlin has been picked by Green Light Racing to run the Craftsman Truck Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway on July 2nd. This will be Hamlin's first start in a truck, and his first race back in a NASCAR Series since leaving the Autozone Elite Division, Northwest Series after the 2003 season.

"We've had two great runs in the ARCA car, and I'm really excited about this opportunity to run in the Truck Series," Hamlin said. "Green Light Racing has great equipment, and I'm looking forward to working with them."

Hamlin has never run at Kansas Speedway, but the 1.5 mile tri oval has some similar characteristics to Kentucky Speedway where he ran earlier in the year. And Hamlin knows he's up against some stiff competition with drivers such as Bobby Hamilton, Ron Hornaday, and Jimmy Spencer headlining the series.

"If we can go to Kansas, run smart, and come out with a top 15 finish, I'll be happy. The Truck Series has some great drivers and I'm going to try and learn all I can," Hamlin said.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 will be shown live on Speed Channel starting at 3pm EST on July 2nd. Stay tuned to KevinHamlin.com for all the latest on Kevin's progess.
