Kerry Earnhardt Qualifies Third at Kentucky Speedway
KERRY EARNHARDT, No.13 National Pork Board Silverado, Qualified 3rd:
"We found some speed in our Silverado during the second practice yesterday so I was hoping we could keep there today. I was going for the pole but at the same time, I didn't want to crash and wreck such a good truck so I really worked on being smooth and we ended up picking up a little more on our second lap. Our team needs a good finish tonight. Starting up front helps and then keeping good track position is what we need to do to get the finish we need and build some momentum for the rest of the season.
ARIC ALMIROLA, No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Silverado, Qualified 16th:
"Really loose, really loose. I think that that ARCA race last night put down a lot of Hoosier rubber, and I was just really loose on that. It doesn't mix real well with our Goodyear tires, but I think we have a real good truck for the race, and will be really good for the race. I think if we would have been really good in qualifying we would have been in trouble for the race."
Did you work on race runs or qualifying runs during practice? "Well, since we are guaranteed in the show, we really only work on race runs during practice. Every week it is the same deal, and then during qualifying we just take a stab at it and end up where we end up."
CHAD MCCUMBEE, No. 08 U.S. Restoration Silverado, Qualified 18th:
"We are on the conservative plan over here, so our job is to do what we have been doing. The most that we had was maybe a tenth or so, but that could have also been a disaster. We were a little free, I am actually really happy with that because we have been tight since we have been here, so hopefully it will race well. The truck traveled more, which was a good thing also. The last couple weeks has been the best that we have started, and we have been finishing well, so we are looking to keep that up this week."
KRAIG KINSER, No. 46 CENTRIX Auto Finance Silverado, Qualified 27th:
NOTE: Kinser spun coming out of the fourth turn on his second qualifying lap damaging the right side of the truck. The crew was able to make repairs but Kinser will start in the back of the 36-truck field.
