KANSAS CITY, Kansas - For the third straight race, Tracy Hines overcame involvement in an accident to finish on the lead lap and in 14th position in a NASCAR Truck Series event. This time the race was the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 at the Kansas Speedway on Saturday, July 3. Carl Edwards won the event.

Hines, who started 20th in the 35-truck field, was involved in an incident on the second lap of the 167-lap race. The No. 88 Menards Chevrolet Silverado received damage to its right front corner.

The ThorSport Racing crew made repairs on a series of pit stops, patching the broken pieces and rebuilding much of the trucks' nose.

"The guys did a great job fixing the truck on pit stops...again," Hines said. "This is the third straight week we've gotten caught up in somebody else's wreck.

"We've been lucky to be able to overcome that with lead lap finishes each week, but we're all getting tired of it."

Hines spent much of the mid and latter stages of the race running outsdie the top-20. He was as low as 23rd in the final 50 laps before an adjustment helped make his truck come alive.

"We made a wedge adjustment on the last pit stop, and that really made a difference," Hines said. "We were running about as well as the back half of the top-10 after that."

The performance kept Hines 20th in the series driver point standings. He's within 100 points of 13th position.

The series continues with a race in Sparta, Ky. Saturday, July 10.
