YOU STRUGGLED EARLY BUT HAD A STRONG TRUCK AT THE END OF THE RACE. "That shows the strength of the Circle Bar race team. Craig Huartson, the crew chief, we came in here and made a pit stop and they worked on it and made changes that maybe the driver wouldn't call and that shows why he's making the big bucks. Anyway, a top-three finish and a good day in the points and that's where this race team needs to be."
JON WOOD-50-Roush Racing Ford F-150 (Finished 6th)
YOU CHOSE TO PIT WHILE RUNNING THIRD IN THE CLOSING STAGE OF THE RACE. "We didn't get it full of fuel, so we didn't have much of a choice but to come back in or we weren't going to be able to finish the race. It's a better day than what we've been having at tracks this size, but we're still not there yet."
ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT EVEN WITH THE LACK OF PRACTICE THIS WEEKEND THAT SO MANY TRUCKS FINISHED ON THE LEAD LAP? "That just goes to show how much engineering help a lot of these teams are getting. Last year if this would have happened there would have been three trucks on the lead lap. Now, everybody unloads the same and it's hard to get one up on somebody."
YOU ARE THE ONLY TRUCK SERIES DRIVER TO HAVE COMPLETED EVER LAP OF COMPETITION AT THIS TRACK. IS THERE A SECOND GROOVE FORMING? "The second groove really came in today and that's why we were able to make our way towards the front at the end."
TERRY COOK-10-Power Stroke Diesel by Int'l Ford F-150 (Finished 10th)
"The Power Stroke Diesel by International truck was just awesome today. I don't want to say we let one get away from us today, but I guarantee you we were going to run second if we didn't win it. That was 100 percent the driver's fault. We were running fourth on a restart with about 60 to go. Lapped traffic was doing their own thing. They weren't being mean, so I can't blame it on them, but they were making it difficult and you saw a lot of trucks in the fence today. You have to run such a big right-rear spring here to make these things turn that when you get in traffic, you're just out of control. We were again today in traffic, but, man, it was sure fast by itself. I got underneath the 8 truck off of turn 4 and it started coming around. I buried the throttle and did all I could just to keep it off the wall, and I'm glad we at least did that. We went down through the grass and knocked the valance up. We took a truck that should have won or at least run second, and ended up finishing 10th. The Power Stroke Diesel team did their job, I guess I'm the one that let them down today."
HOW MUCH OF AN HURDLE WAS THE LACK OF PRACTICE THIS WEEKEND? "I think it threw us in the right direction. We unloaded off the trailer and were just bad fast. We made a couple of adjustments, but put it back to way it came off of the trailer for the start of the race. We made a couple of adjustments during the pit stops there and kept making it better, but we never got it perfect. We got it good and drove up into the top three there at one point, but the driver let them down from there."
CARL EDWARDS-99-Superchips Ford F-150 (Finished 1st)
"I can't describe this. I was crying when I crossed the finish line. Still, I was panicking because I thought maybe we didn't really win this race. This is the biggest race of my life."
TALK ABOUT THE MISFORTUNE YOU SUFFERED AT THE START OF THE RACE. "I kept looking up at the grandstands. I just read this book and they said to try to absorb as much positive energy as you can, and when rolled by and had the lead those fans that were cheering, and that's really what did it."
KEVIN LOVE-67-Fiddle Back Racing Ford F-150 (Finished 11th)
YOU MANAGED TO POST A CAREER-BEST FINISH IN YOUR FIFTH START IN THE SERIES? "The pit crew did an awesome job pitting today. They got me in and out of the pits, and pitted at the right time strategy-wise. I've got to thank Fiddle Back Racing to let me drive this weekend, and I'm glad to bring the truck home in one piece and with an 11th-place finish."
YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THIS TRACK BEFORE THIS WEEKEND AND GOT JUST 30 MINUTES OF PRACTICE BEFORE THE RACE. HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO ADAPT TO THE TRACK SO QUICKLY? "We wound up blowing up in practice and had to start dead last, so it's pretty awesome to come back and finish 11th."
BRANDON WHITT-38-Werner Ladders/Cure Autism Now Ford F-150 (Finished 23rd)
WHAT PUT YOU BEHIND THE WALL? "We were racing Chase Montgomery for 20 or 30 laps, and we were faster than he was, but he could drive in deeper and we would come off the corner better. Unfortunately, we couldn't get around him and that's what happens when stuff like that goes wrong."
WAS THERE A VIABLE SECOND RACING GROOVE TODAY? "You could run two wide, and that's what happened there. Chase was able to run up high and we just got the air taken off of our spoiler right there and around we went."
