* Joe Ruttman and the Bobby Hamilton/Dana Racing team enter this weekend's event at Indianapolis Raceway Park with two top 5 finishes in the last four events. Unfortunately, the Dana team has had mechanical failures, not of there own making, in the other two events. "The biggest problem we have had is getting to the finish of these races," said Ruttman. "It's nothing the crew has done, it's just that we have had some parts break that don't normally break. I guess the best thing about the whole deal is that we know if something doesn't break, we can run in the top five week in and week out."
* Joe Ruttman was very busy between New Hampshire and Indianapolis this week. He visited four Dana plants in the Indiana area and also participated in a NASCAR festival in downtown Richmond, Indiana. On Monday, Ruttman was just outside of Richmond, Indiana at two Perfect Circle Plants that produce cylinder head liners for such companies as Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, Briggs and Stratton, and Mack to name just a few. On Tuesday, Ruttman signing autographs for over 1000 people in Downtown Richmond, Indiana. On Wednesday, Ruttman joined Bobby Hamilton in Fort Wayne, Indiana at two Spicer plants. Both drivers toured the plants and met the employees. The Spicer plants produce the front axle assemblies for the Dodge Ram truck, and the Ford Explorer.
* The Dana Racing team and driver Joe Ruttman will be racing "Chunky" this week at Indianapolis Raceway Park. It is the same truck the team recorded two top 10 finishes with earlier this year at Homestead and Memphis.
Ruttman's Quotes for Indianapolis Raceway Park
"I've always run good here but for some reason I just finish a little farther back than I think we should have. Some people think that may be crazy, when they see my record here, but I always felt the finishes could have been better."
"We had a few problems last week but hopefully we have that behind us and we can go on from here and finish out the year on a strong note."
"It would mean a lot to win a race in the city of Indianapolis, mostly because of what my brother Troy did here at the big track. I have a lot of fond memories about coming here and it would be nice to win one here."
