Pheasants Forever to take flight with Jason White
Jason White is set to return to the Iowa Speedway as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series makes it's second appearance at the 7/8-mile facility in the heart of America at Sunday's Lucas Oil 200 at the Iowa Speedway.
White's No. 23 Dodge will have a passenger on board as a brightly colored ringneck pheasant will adorn the tonneau cover of the GunBroker.com/Pheasants Forever Dodge as part of a special partnership between GunBroker.com and the habitat organization; Pheasants Forever.
This is the second time the NCWTS has raced at the Iowa Speedway, White finished twenty-forth last year following an on-track altercation just past the races halfway point that dropped him from a top-ten running position. "That was a bad deal, we had a rocketship, a bad pit-stop dropped us back and I got tangled-up coming back through the field."
Iowa is the tenth race of the 2010 NCWTS season and with a three week break since the last race at Michigan, the SS Green Light team has been hard at work over the last three weeks preparing trucks for Jason heading into the busy summer stretch where the truckers will race in nine consecutive weeks.
"I'm excited to get back to the track, three weeks without racing is crazy" Jason explained. "The guys have got all our trucks ready because there is just no time to be fixing stuff during this stretch."
The SS Green Light team will have four special guests at the VFW 200; winners of the Pheasants Forever VIP Experience sweepstakes who will be honorary crew members this weekend.
"Pheasants Forever is a very large organization and GunBroker.com are working together to help with upland conservation," White said. "I hope our guests have a great time at the track and hopefully we can put the GunBroker.com truck up front for them this week."
Thirty-eight trucks are on the entry list for the Lucas Oil 200.
It will be a busy weekend for the NCWTS teams with a hauler parade on Friday evening through downtown Newton and a special pre-race autograph session/grid walk will take place at Iowa Speedway from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on raceday.
