MARTINSVILLE, VA (September 4, 2004) - 2003 NASCAR Dodge Weekly National Champion Mark McFarland will be behind the wheel of the # 59 HT Motorsports NASCAR Craftsman race truck at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday, September 9th.
McFarland has made several starts in 2004 for the Jim Harris owned entry. McFarland is from Winchester(VA), so this will give him the opportunity to race close to home.
Additional Notes: Excavation continues for the new HT Motorsports Race Shop, which will be constructed next to Arrington Enterprises, where Joey Arrington prepares the powerful engines utilized by many of the top Dodge teams. Jim Harris hopes to have the team relocated in time to begin preparations for the 2005 season.
Lou Larosa and the Patrick Henry Community College Coming Alive Program continue to support the engine program for HT Motorsports. Arrington announced recently that there has been 100% placement for the first graduating class.
HT Motorsports, Arrington Enterprises, Patrick Henry Community College, and Henry County will soon combine resources to launch the Virginia Motorsports Technical Center, which will be housed under the same roof as the new HT Motorsports Race Shop.
Beth Brazwell, Director for Economic Development of Henry County (Martinsville, VA) has been a driving force behind the project.
