Practice rained out at Gateway MADISON, Ill. (Sept. 17, 1998) The four-hour optional test session scheduled for Thursday for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series trucks in preparation for Saturday's Ram Tough 200 presented by Pepsi at Gateway International Raceway was cancelled due to wet weather. This is the first time the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will have raced at Gateway International, which was opened last year. On Friday, the trucks will hold their first practice session, a one-hour segment, beginning at 11 a.m. EDT. They'll also hit the track for an hour from 1 - 2 p.m. EDT before Bud Pole Qualifying, which gets under way at 4 p.m. EDT and determines starting spots 1-25. Bud Second-Round Qualifying will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. EDT to determine positions 26 - 31, with a practice session schedule immediately after. The 160-lap, 200-mile Ram Tough 200 is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EDT Saturday. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will share the 1..25-mile venue with the Re/Max Challenge Series, NASCAR Touring, this weekend. Bud Pole Qualifying for that series is set to begin following Bud Pole Qualifying for the Ram Tough 200.
