RACE RECAP -
Mike Bliss won his third Bud Pole of the season, the 17th of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career (second all-time), but never led a lap as he struggled with his No. 16 IWX Motor Freight Chevy all evening. Bliss fell from first to 13th in the first three laps and worked has way back to sixth before scoring the ninth-place finish. Despite the sub par effort, Bliss still retained the NCTS points lead by 40 makers over Rick Crawford with five races remaining.

BLISS POST-RACE QUOTES -

On the final laps of the race

I just got killed on that last restart. I hate it when you lose three or four positions on the final restart. It was my mistake and that kind of stuff adds up at the end of the season when you are in the middle of a points race. At least we got a Top-10 finish out of it and the truck is in one piece. We're still in the points lead even though we lost a little bit today. That bothers me. We had a better truck than that and I feel like that was my fault.

On going from the pole to 13th in the first four laps

Coy Gibbs got underneath me going into Turn 3 and that really hung me out. That's all it took for everyone to go by me on the bottom. I just got stuck on the outside and there was nothing I could do about it

On retaining the points lead

That's about the only good thing I can say about tonight. I know we have to look at the big picture, but it's disappointing to know that we could have really put some distance on everyone tonight and we didn't. We'll just have to go on to South Boston and do better there.
