IT LOOKED LIKE YOU WERE JUST A BYSTANDER IN THAT INCIDENT. "I didn't feel anything on the race track. Bryan Reffner said that something was all over his windshield, but I was a little further back than where they were at. By the time he was turned sideways, I was already on the brakes and I got tapped from behind and turned, and it was just a free-for-all after that."

WHAT DID YOU SEE OUT THERE? "I don't know. It looks like the 99 got on the apron and got sideways and spun out. I just had nowhere to go and hit him."
YOU TRIED TO FIX THE TRUCK AND RUN SOME MORE LAPS. "With the entire frontend cut away, we couldn't run like needed to. We got the radiator fixed and made some laps, but that's just because we could get a couple more spots. When we knew we weren't going to get any more spots on the track, we decided to go to the garage. This is a fast track, but you need a complete truck to run around here, and we didn't have that after we cut off the frontend."

WHAT HAPPENED? "We got held up a little a bit, Rick Crawford and I, coming off of Turn 4 from Stan Boyd. I got forced up into the outside fence a little bit, and I don't think that I hit, but it came awfully close. Ricky Hendrick got a great run coming off of 4 and got alongside of me on the outside. I just went into Turn 1 and wasn't up to full speed and his air messed with my air and it turned us around. It was unfortunate for the Eldon Office Products Ford. It's really not what I'm here to do. I'm here to run up front and actually finish up front, and I just didn't have that today."
Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford F-150 (Finished 2nd) -
DID YOU THINK YOU HAD ANYTHING FOR TRAVIS KVAPIL? "Yeah, I think we did. Ray Stonkus did an awesome job adjusting it tonight. I just want to say that this is Tom Mitchell's home race track and it's great to pull off a second-place finish anyway. We were best in class. The closer we got to Travis, the tighter we got. At one point in time, before that last caution, we were running him down. Catching him was one thing and passing him is another. I would just like to have seen him stay in lapped traffic because I felt we were a little bit better in that portion of the track."
YOUR TEAM HAS IMPROVED THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. "You have to mention the Ernie Elliott engines under that hood. We changed engines and it just revived the whole team and put a breath of fresh air in everybody. Me and Ray Stonkus have been together for quite a while, and we'll just call him the next Harry Hog, how 'bout that?"

ARE YOU OK AND WHAT HAPPENED? "I'm OK. We were having some oiling problem earlier in the race. We were blowing oil out of the breather and had to make a bunch of pit stops. We got back there and got behind a lapped truck or a slower truck, and trying to pass them, I knocked a hole in the frontend. We tried to put a patch on that and I don't know if we put too much tape on the grille up front. The motor started running hot and we probably blew the motor up. We laid a bunch of oil down and that's probably what got us into the wall hard."
