"I like running at this place. It's a driver's race track. The driver dictates what the Milwaukee Electric Tools Ford wants here because it's comfort level. It's really a fast race track. Ray Stonkus puts it under me and the whole Heavy Duty crew works hard. This is for them. I'll point at the plaque, but it's all for them. I hope it holds up and that the Dodges haven't been sandbagging on us. This is great boost for Ford, too."
YOU DON'T GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO RUN ON CONCRETE THAT OFTEN. ARE YOU A FAN OF IT?
"I've run on some concrete surfaces before like Bristol, and run really well and brought home a win there one time. I just like racing. I don't care if it's on wood or sand or whatever. I just want to win and race up front."
YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE AND FINISHED THIRD, BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF ROOKIES THAT HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO TEST HERE. DO YOU HAVE A DECIDED ADVANTAGE?
"So what you're telling me is that the two guys that finished ahead of me here last year aren't here, so we're the top finisher returning this year. The way I look at is when a rookie pulls across the back straightaway to get in the parking lot, this place will intimidate him. They need to realize the safety factor here, and if they can do that, we'll have a good race."
TERRY COOK-29-K Automotive Ford F-150 (Qualified 25th) -
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR THAT THIS TEAM HAS SEEMED TO STRUGGLE.
"We're definitely struggling, but I feel confident that by the time Happy Hour ends this afternoon we'll have a handle on this race track. We've been struggling since we unloaded, but we're making progress and closing the gap. Ever since we went to sticker tires, we've been backing up, and you can only take on sticker tires a couple times during the race, so hopefully we won't have to battle that. I think we've got a much better race package than qualifying package, so I look for us to go to the front tomorrow afternoon."
IS THE CONCRETE SURFACE CAUSING YOU PROBLEMS?
"We don't race on concrete very often, but I don't think that that has a lot to do with it. Somewhere we struggling and we haven't put our finger on it yet, but I guarantee that come race time we'll have it figured out. And, I think that that will really show what kind of team that this is. You really show what you're made of when you face adversity."
NATHAN HASELEU-99-Roush Performance Ford F-150 (Qualified 13th) -
"It was an OK lap. It was a little too loose for me, but it was an OK lap and the fastest we've gone all day. We should have snugged it up a little bit, but we've got a good baseline setup to work with in Happy Hour."
YOU'VE NEVER RACED ON CONCRETE BEFORE. IS THIS A REAL CHALLENGE?
"This is my first time racing on concrete, but we did test at Bristol earlier in the year. I like this track, it's fast and requires you to stay on your toes." HAVE YOU SET A GOAL FOR TOMORROW? "I go every week to improve and run better. I definitely want to finish in the top 10, and that's a realistic goal for this team."
CHUCK HOSSFELD-50-Eldon Ford F-150 (Qualified 9th) -
"We've made a ton of improvement since we rolled the truck of the hauler this morning. I knew we were going to put a decent time down because we got in traffic in our test qualifying run, so I knew we had something better. I don't know what that will hold up for, but that's a step in the right direction. Hopefully we'll start up front with the faster trucks."
HAVE YOU RACED MUCH ON CONCRETE?
"No, but we tested at Bristol which is a lot smaller that this but has the same characteristics. I think we'll do good in the race because I like this place."
DO YOU FEEL ANY ADDED PRESSURE COMING TO A TRACK WHERE THE ROUSH DRIVERS FINISHED ONE-TWO LAST YEAR?
"The problem is that they've done good at every track. They did run one-two, which is really impressive, but they will both be here this weekend as well. That will allow me to run back and forth between all three garages and figure this place out. As far as added pressure, I think I put enough pressure on myself to go out and perform every week. I watched the tapes from last year and so far we've been improving, and that's our main goal."
JASON WHITE-86-National Wild Turkey Federation Ford F-150 (Qualified 17th) -
THAT WAS YOUR BEST QUALIFYING EFFORT OF THE SEASON.
"I think we're figuring this truck thing out. We got a new crew chief this week and made some changes, and I think that those changes are a step in the right direction. We were a little bit better in practice. We were tight so we freed it up, but I think we went too far. We were shooting for a top 10, and put it all on the table, but we went too far on some of our changes. We gambled and it kind of bit us. Still, we ended up 17th and that's the best we've been all year."
WHY DID YOUR TEAM MAKE THE CREW CHIEF CHANGE?
"I think we needed a little better communication, and we're getting there. We weren't performing at the level that we thought we should have been, and the decision had to be made. We're still a little off, but it takes time."
HOW ABOUT RACING ON CONCRETE?
"It awesome. I've never been to this track, but I ran at Bristol in the Busch car. This track is awesome because you're really rolling through the corners at a high rate of speed."

YOU CAME IN A CLOSE SECOND TO SCOTT RIGGS.
"Scott is leading in the points and doing his job, and I feel like we're doing ours. I'd like to give him a lot of credit for that and I know that the margin that much, but he did what he needed to do. If I dissected my two laps, I would say they were tow perfect laps as far as I'm concerned. Anybody could have gotten in my truck and I believe they would have been slower no matter who they are. Hit your marks, two perfect laps for the Milwaukee Electric Tools Ford. On the cool-down lap after you get the checkered flag, it was like that was all we've got. We picked up two tenths from our practice time, so everybody did their job."
WE HAVE A FORD TRYING TO BREAK THROUGH THE DODGES. DO YOU FEEL THIS IS THE TRACK OF TRACK THAT A FORD CAN GO TO THE FRONT?
"I sure would like to mess up their party. It's been going on too long and we received a little bit of help from NASCAR to help equal the deficit, but I still feel that we're in a deficit because we haven't won yet. I think we're able to race them a little closer. We need a little bit of luck and a good day tomorrow and a good, safe race, and then maybe we'll be around at the end."
