LAGASSE JR. SET FOR FIRST NCTS START AT CALIFORNIA

* Lagasse Jr. will pilot the No. 04 Dodge Hemi Ram prepared by Bobby Hamilton Racing at California and for the remainder of the 2006 NCTS season.
Scott Lagasse Jr.'s long wait is over: "I have been waiting for this weekend all winter long. I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to work with Bobby Hamilton and his organization. I know how important it is to surround yourself with good people and I feel I have done that. Between winter testing and running the ARCA race in Daytona I have not been in the shop as much as I would have liked. I am in the process of moving to Nashville and that will make it a lot easier to spend time with the guys. I was taught to work on my own equipment and not expect others to fix it for me. I want to continue that even though I am running in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. I want to be there as much as possible."
Learning while watching at Daytona: "I was able to sit on the pit box this past weekend in Daytona during the truck race. It is amazing how much you can learn from watching a race. I was very impressed with how all of BHR stuck to the game plan we set before the race. It shows me I truly have teammates and not just people I call teammates. Kevin Hamlin filled in for me at Daytona and he did a great job. He played his cards right and was able to bring home an 11th place finish. I had a bird's eye view of how my team communicates during a race and how my pit crew performs on pit stops. I was highly impressed. Now, it is my turn to show them what I can do on the track."
Motivation: "Last week in Daytona I was reading a newspaper article about the NCTS Rookie of the Year class. It is the biggest rookie class in the history of the truck series and I am glad to be a part of it. In the article they ranked the rookies in how they thought they would finish come the last race of the year. Well, I was ranked 12th. It's funny because at first I was a little upset about being so far down on the list, but not anymore. I turn stuff like that into motivation. I cut the article out and I am saving it for the end of the year. When I finish higher than 12th I will have the writer autograph it for me."
