DiCarlo Makes Strong Impression with Top-20 Finish in Her NASCAR Camping World Series Debut at Auto Club Speedway

FONTANA, CA (February 21, 2009) - Gabi DiCarlo and the Great Clips Racing team found themselves short on time but strong on talent as they headed to sunny southern California for their debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. For DiCarlo it was a weekend where a lifelong dream became a reality.

Just two short weeks ago NASCAR made it clear that DiCarlo had made a positive impression at the Daytona ARCA race by clearing her to compete in the Camping World Truck Series. Thus, the plan her scheduled debut in the series was quickly moved up and the Randy Nelson led crew did a masterful job preparing two trucks to make the long journey west from North Carolina.

DiCarlo fired the engine on the No. 90 Great Clips Toyota Tundra on Thursday and rolled onto the track for the first time for the first of two practice sessions. She quickly proved why Doug Stringer hand picked the young talent to drive in the ARCA RE/MAX Series for the past two years. As the second practice came to an end, DiCarlo felt she had handle on the unfamiliar way the trucks drive when compared to the cars she is accustomed to.

Her instinct was proven right as she qualified solidly in the 23rd position for the San Bernardino County 200. The race would prove no different as DiCarlo mixed it up with a mostly veteran field and fought to a exceptional 19th place finish. It was an amazing first race for the Camping World Truck Series rookie, who received passing grades from everyone involved.

"Gabi showed everyone the reason she is behind the wheel for my team," said Doug Stringer, owner of Stringer Motorsports. "It was an amazing weekend and I am so proud of the way she handled everything. Gabi and the whole team can be very proud of their NASCAR debut"

"Things went as well as we could have possibly hoped," said DiCarlo. "I really enjoyed driving the Great Clips Toyota Tundra this weekend. I was able to accomplish all the goals I had set for myself and I will never forget my first NASCAR race. So many people have supported me in this journey, I can't thank them enough."

To build off of their success Gabi and Great Clips Team will now head to Atlanta Motor Speedway to compete in the American Commercial Lines 200.
