Chad On California:
"I am so looking forward to racing this week in California. Last year in the Craftsman Truck Series we had a big break in our schedule after Daytona but with the strong performance this team put on in Daytona and with how close we were to victory - I am very excited to be racing right away this week. The track in California is a wide multi-groove track and it provides for some exciting side by side racing. You can run so many different lines there and drafting comes into play as well. Toyota has given us some tremendous horsepower and that is important at a big 2-mile track like this. This No. 30 team won the truck race here last year and I have always enjoyed the track - so I think we will be a strong contender for the win on Friday night."
Chad On Daytona Flip:
"I told these boys this truck would fly, but I should have said it would haul the mailbecause I was bragging on how good it would fly -- and it took off on me. I'm disappointed we ended up 21st because we had a shot to win this race. There we were with three or four laps to go and we were running in second- or third-place. You come down here and you don't know what hand you're going to be dealt. We gave it all we had and didn't really destroy the truck. Although we took a good ride -- we're going to bounce back."
Chad will be busy while visiting the west coast this week. He will start his week off with making at appearance at the headquarters for TRD (Toyota Racing Development) on Wednesday where he and the other Toyota drivers will hold an autograph session and join key management in a luncheon.
On Thursday evening, Chad will appear at the Dave & Busters at the Ontario Mills for an autograph session from 7:00 -- 8:00 p.m. (PST).
Finally, after the race Chad will stay on the west coast for some Toyota commercial filming on Monday.
Career at California:
Chad will be making his fourth career start at the California Speedway. Along with one start in the NASCAR Busch Series at the 2-mile track, Chad has two starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with his 11th place finish last season his best to date.
