Deborah On Dover:
"I am really excited about Dover. We tested there the Monday after the Lowe's race and I think it is a race track that can really turn our luck around. I am well aware of the reputation of the "Monster Mile" and how tough it can be. It will be important for me to be patient during the race and make sure that I stay out of harms way. My BHR2 team has been giving me great trucks each week and Arrington Engines provides us with awesome horsepower for under the hood of this No. 8 DODGE. This has been a tough season for me so far but I am hopeful of a strong run this week and a very important good point's day."
Deborah and her BHR2 team tested at Dover last week with their No. 8 DODGE. These were the first laps for Deborah at the "Monster Mile".
"I studied the track a lot before going there to test and when we unloaded I adapted to the track pretty quickly. I was a little intimidated at first but I got comfortable with things as the test progressed. Kevin Harvick was at the track testing his Cup car and he was kind enough to offer me a few tips and that really helped me out. We turned some fast laps in qualifying trim and the truck felt good to me with the race set-up. By the end of the day I was very comfortable and I cannot wait to get back there this week and get a solid run under our belts."
Deborah On Danica Patrick:
"Danica rocks!! She has an unbelievable opportunity and she is making the most of it. Her record setting weekend at Indianapolis only solidifies what we have been saying for years -- women belong here as race car drivers. I follow Danica and what she is doing as much as I can -- I know her through the Lynn St. James Driver Development program and she is just setting the world on fire. She is clearing the path for many other up-and-coming female race car drivers -- it's our turn to bring that same level of success to the Craftsman Truck Series. With all of this attention given to Danica and her run in the Indianapolis 500, I am hopeful that this helps open some doors to Corporate America and further support of female drivers with sponsorship and marketing funds that are necessary to compete in this sport."
Career at Dover:
For the fourth race in a row, Deborah will be making her career debut at a track -- this time at the 1.0-mile concrete oval of the Dover International Speedway. Deborah and her BHR2 team did test at the track right after the Lowe's race and those laps should prove to be helpful when the No. 8 DODGE is unloaded.
