This week's truck:
"This is the only complete truck we had when we bought this team from Rick McCray. We have raced it only a few times, and it has always run pretty well. We take it to places like Darlington and Dover, and it ran well at Darlington so we think we should have a pretty good day at Dover, too."
Last Race for this Truck:
03/15/02, Darlington Raceway, Craftsman Anniversary 200, Started 24th, Finished 12th
"We had a power steering line come off early in the race and had to pit. We got lucky and had a yellow and came down and got it fixed. We managed to stay on the lead lap and we came from last to finish 12th. At a place like Darlington, where it is hard to pass, that makes for a tough day."
Recapping last race:
Started 28th/Finished 20th, 196 of 200 laps, running, $10,115
"We took a drop-snout truck to PPIR, one of the few teams that did so. We could never get that feel I needed to be comfortable, could never get the traction off the turns. So, we took the truck back and even though it wasn't wrecked, we cut the front snout off and are having it replaced with a standard snout."
Previewing the MBNA America 200:
"I have always run well at Dover, even going back to the days in the Busch car. But we have never had any really good finishes. I had probably the hardest crash in my career there when a spindle broke and I hit the wall coming out of turn four (Busch Series Race, June 1994). A wheel got loose and ended up going down pit road and hurt someone standing on pit road. I have always liked the track there, and hopefully we'll have a good run."
