Neuenberger ties career high at NextEra Energy Resources 250 with RWR
It has been ten long years for Donnie Neuenberger in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series since his 9th place finish at Daytona with truck owner Robert Long and the ebay.com sponsorship. Nearly a decade later to the date, Neuenberger backed up his debut finish and tied his career high in the series with a 9th place finish for Rick Ware Racing(RWR) and EZ-Slider.
Neuenberger joined RWR in the winter for select races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series and his first foray with RWR since 2002.
Donnie looked like a poised veteran when he qualified his #6 EZ-Slider Chevrolet in the 32nd position and worked with rookie teammate Brett Butler during practices for the NextEra Energy Resources 250.
"I really enjoy working with Rick (Ware). We have a long history and when I saw his venture in the truck series, I said I want to help build that, and here we are," stated the Maryland native.
Neuenberger started the race in the 32nd position and quickly moved up into the top fifteen by lap twenty all the while working with rookie Butler.
"The truck is really good and when the time is right, we will make our move," stated Donnie.
With twelve laps to go, Neuenberger started his quest and charged to the front, battling in the Top five in the closing laps. As the white flag flew, Neuenberger sat fourth, but a late charge by the pack shuffled him to a ninth place finish
"It feels good to run up at the front again. These guys made the EZ-Slider Chevy look good and opened the season off right. I want to thank Rick Ware Racing and the crew and we look forward to doing it again at Atlanta Motor Speedway," stated Neuenberger.
