DARLINGTON, S.C., (March 15, 2002) - Ted Musgrave passed Robert Pressley with 12 laps remaining to win the Craftsman Anniversary 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Darlington Raceway on Friday afternoon.

"Entering the corner, three wide with a lap truck, I went high and he went low," Musgrave said of the winning pass. "I was bouncing off the wall and he was half sideways. That's what Craftsman Truck Series racing at Darlington is all about."

But the win wasn't locked up just yet. With two laps remaining, two trucks spun in Turn 3, just in front of Musgrave and Pressley. Pressley was able to get alongside Musgrave, but the Franklin, Wis., native managed to keep his No. 1 Mopar Performance Dodge in front.

Musgrave was concerned that the incident was going to bring out the caution and set up a green-white-checkered finish. But the track stayed green and Musgrave took the white flag and eventually the checkered flag.

Once we received the white flag, it was over from there," Musgrave said.

The win was Musgrave's first at Darlington Raceway and his eighth career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series triumph. He led four different times for a total of 82 laps, the most of any driver.

"Darlington's tough any day," said Musgrave, whose Dodge was battered and beaten in Victory Lane after scrapes with a lap truck earlier in the race and the walls of Darlington.

Pressley, who won the season-opening Florida Dodge Dealers 250 at Daytona International Speedway, wasn't too disappointed with a second-place finish.

"He had the best truck today," Pressley said. "He knocked the fender off, and that equaled up the competition. Whenever the best man wins every week, you've got to feel good about it. We're tied for the points, and the Dodges are looking good."

Next up at Darlington is the DarlingtonRaceway.com 200 NASCAR Busch Series race on Saturday, March 16. Tickets are available at the gate or by calling the Raceway ticket office at (843) 395-8499.
