Christopher Bell to make truck debut at Iowa Speedway

Christopher will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut for Kyle Busch Motorsports at Iowa Speedway on June 19th. 

The 20-year-old Toyota Racing development driver from Norman, Oklahoma will pilot the No. 51 Toyota Certified Used Vehicles Tundra in the American Ethanol 200. 

“I'm really excited to have Toyota Certified Used Vehicles (TCUV) as a sponsor and I'm looking forward to making the most of the opportunity to race in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for KBM, TCUV, and Toyota," Bell said in the release. “Although the vehicles will drive somewhat different, being able to race in the K&N Series last month will help speed up my learning curve for the Truck Series race, and having (crew chief) Jerry (Baxter) come out to crew chief that race gave us a head start on our communication as well.”

Bell won the 2013 USAC National Midget Championship then began transitioning to pavement last September in KBM’s Late Model program. Bell won in his fourth start in the Orange County 150 Pro All Star Series Super Late Model race in Rougement, N.C. 

 This year Bell has earned four victories in his first seven starts with KBM and has a remarkable average finish o f 1.7. Perhaps Bells greatest display of talent in stock cars came in the Rattler 250 in March where he led 203 of 250 laps at South Alabama Speedway and held off the field — including XFINITY Series Champion Chase Elliott — for the win. 

In addition to his late model racing, Bell has continued to hone his skills in selective K&N Pro Series where he finished 15th at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway in his tour debut. Bell tested out Iowa in his second K&N start, coming from 18th to finish fifth in May. 

Bell continues to torment the competition on dirt as well. He’s won four of eight Midget races this season and won his second World of Outlaws Sprint Car race in the Spring Classic Winged Sprint Car event at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at 1-55 Speedway in Pevely, Mo. in April.
