Dennis Setzer Has "New Ride" At Charlotte
No. 46 Chevrolet Silverado Carrying Colors of Silverado Z71 Off-Road Package
Concord, NC - Fans looking for Dennis Setzer in his familiar black No. 46 Chevrolet Silverado racing to defend his 2004 victory will find the factory Chevrolet Silverado driver in a "new ride" for the Quaker Steak and Lube 200. The truck is carrying a red pearl paint scheme with the trademark Chevrolet Z71 logo on the rear quarter panels for the May 20 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Z71 is the factory designation for the Off-Road Preferred Equipment Group 4 X 4 option package for the Chevrolet Silverado K-1500 line as well as other Chevrolet and GMC truck and SUV model lines.
The Z71 Suspension optional off-road package includes an impressive list of add-ons that create superb off-road capability and ride control. Some key components of the package include skid plate package, 1.81" (46 mm) shocks, off-road jounce bumpers and stabilizer bars.
"We've got a special look on our Silverado this weekend," said Setzer. "Our truck has a Silverado Z71 paint scheme on it and it's really sharp. We are honored that the Chevrolet Silverado division chose the No. 46 to showcase their Z71 off-road package.
"We brought a brand new race truck to Lowe's that tested really well a couple of weeks ago at Chicagoland Speedway. It really performed better than the truck that won the race last year and finished fourth at Atlanta earlier in 2005. I think it is a good omen for our team that we have a special paint scheme on a brand new race truck to go for back-to-back wins at Charlotte."
Setzer will hit the track in the red No. 46 for the first practice session at 1:00 pm Thursday. Following the one-hour session will be a short 30-minute break before a one-hour final practice. Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. Trucks will impounded until race time on Friday evening.
The Quaker Steak and Lube 200 will take the green flag at 8:45 PM EDT on Friday, May 20. The 134 lap/201-mile race will have live flag-to-flag television coverage provided by SPEED. The race can also be heard on MRN Radio as well as XM Satellite Radio.
