Crafton brings Menards Chevy home 16th in Michigan 200.

BROOKLYN, Mich. - Despite battling with a truck that grew tighter as the race continued, Matt Crafton finished 16th in the Michigan 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Michigan International Speedway Saturday, July 27. Crafton was the final truck on the lead lap in the race won by Robert Pressley.

"I disappointed that we didn't finish better," Crafton said. "I think everybody on the team is. We came here expecting to be in the top 10. To finish 16th is disappointing."

Crafton raced into the top 10 occasionally during the Michigan 200 but he faded late in the event during a long green-flag run.

"The truck kept getting tighter and tighter," Crafton said. "I was trying everything to squeeze a little more out of it, but there was nothing I could do."

The performance kept Crafton 17th in the series point standings. He's within 20 points of 14th. It marked the first time he's finished on the lead lap in 13 races this season.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series continues with the Power Stroke 200 at the Indianapolis Raceway Park Friday, August 2.
