Mooresville, N.C. - Shane Sieg started deep in the 36-truck starting field in Wednesday night's 200-lap NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway and fought to a 26th-place finish. Sieg struggled with track position all evening and a slide down the front stretch to bring the Green light Racing No. 07 Auto-Air Colors/Lucas Oil Products Chevrolet home in one piece.

"I really like coming to Bristol," Sieg said. "We have had a lot of success here in the All-Pro cars and almost won a couple races here in the past. But that wasn't a whole lot of fun. We didn't get a good qualifying lap and started at the back again. And then it's just all track position from there. The leaders run out by themselves and they are almost a second per lap quicker because they aren't racing in a big pack.

"We got spun around on the frontstretch and flat spotted the tires. The caution didn't come out and we had to pit to get those tires changed. Bristol is definitely a place you don't want to run on flat spotted tires. It's so fast, if one of those tires goes down you are in big trouble in a big hurry."

Sieg sits 20th in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship points. After 16 of 25 races, he sits third in Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings with 140 points, behind leader David Reutimann (174) and Tracy Hines (151).

Sieg and the No. 07 Auto Air Colors/Lucas Oil Products Chevrolet will be back in action on September 9 at Richmond International Raceway. The 200-lap race will be televised live on Speed Channel and broadcast on select radio affiliates of the Motor Racing Network starting at 8 P.M. Eastern. It can also be heard on NASCAR Radio 144 on XM Satellite Radio.
