Jason White Wants to Lead One Lap at Bristol
In 2009 Jason White lead 86 of the 200 laps in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. White lead the mid-week race from laps 38 to 123, but was caught in traffic following pit-stops resulting in a fourteenth place finish for the Virginia native.
White returns to Bristol in 2010 with vengeance in mind. Over the last three races at the track known as the "Worlds fastest half-mile" Jason has finished 34th, 18th and 14th and he looks to continue the upward trend on Wednesday night when the GunBroker.com/Outdoor Channel Outfitters Dodge hits the .533-mile concrete oval.
"I'm super excited to get to Bristol and pick-up right where we left off last year," White said. "We're bringing the same truck we had last year with the same set-up as last year and I don't see any reason why we can't be up front at the end this year."
"I don't care how many laps we lead last year, I just want to lead one lap Wednesday night... and that is the last one!"
White is coming off of two straight DNF's following a radiator problem at Nashville and a blown motor at Darlington. Until that point of the 2010 NCWTS season White had completed nearly 96 percent of the laps and was running at the end of thirteen straight races. That consistency placed the thirty-one year old driver firmly in the top-ten in the point standings.
"We set goals before the season started and we've got ten races left to try to reach those goals," Jason added with his familiar smile. "The last two finishes are not what this team is all about there is no better time for us to prove how good we are."
"I really like the track," he added. "I don't think there is anything more exciting for the drivers or fans than racing at Bristol under the lights."
The O'Reilly Auto Parts 200 will be the third and final week that the popular cable TV program Outdoor Channel Outfitters will be featured on the decklid of the GunBroker.com No. 23.
Wednesday night's race will be Jason's 95th career NCWTS start.
