Alex Bowman is going to get another shot at driving for JR Motorsports.
Bowman, who is running fulltime in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Tommy Baldwin Racing, will make his Camping World Truck Series debut driving the No. 00 Chevrolet in Saturday’s race at Michigan International Speedway.

JRM has been fielding the No. 00 this season and it’s been primarily driven by Cole Custer but on occasion other drivers have filled in including Kasey Kahne and Kevin Harvick.
Bowman, 22, made two starts in the Xfinity Series for JRM last season, finishing 12th at Charlotte and 17th at Phoenix.
“The experiences I had racing for JR Motorsports last year were a lot of fun,” said Bowman. “It’ll be a learning experience for me being my first time in a truck. Watching the No. 00 team so far this season, I know it’s going to be a fast truck and we’ll have a shot to run up front.
“The main goal is to help these guys continue learning and improving on their overall program, particularly at the big tracks, so we’ll try to do that and see if we can pick up a win at the same time.”
The JRM Truck team has earned wins this season with Custer (at Gateway) and Kahne (at Charlotte). Custer returns to the Truck next week at Bristol, Tenn., and will compete in four additional races this season.
