Logano victorious in Xfinity race at Talladega

After 113 thrilling laps of racing at Talladega Superspeedway, Joey Logano beat all challengers to the checkered flag.

"That was crazy ... It's so intense," Logano said. "And your mind is just looking in the mirror the whole time."

The Team Penske Cup star was able to fend off Chris Buescher through the tri-oval, causing the Roush-Fenway driver to fall to sixth. In the scramble to the stripe, RCR temmates Brian Scott and pole-sitter Austin Dillon finished second and third. Two underdogs rounded out the top five with JJ Yeley and Joey Gase.

"I wanted it so bad, and then the first four cars broke away," Scott said. "I got a huge run off of turn four when the top-four broke up (and was able to move back up to second)."

Elliott Sadler battled teammate Darrell Wallace Jr. for the lead very early until the two made contact to bring out the first yellow flag on lap two.

Wallace wound up getting collected in another wreck on lap 98 that ended his day, 15 laps before the finish. Sadler fought his way back towards the front and was one of the major players at the finish.

Ty Dillon maintains the championship lead with an eighth place finish, nine points clear of Buescher. He was lucky to escape relatively unscathed after being swept up in two of the biggest accidents.

"People act like they're not waving (signaling pit stops)," Gaughan said. "Talladega's easy to get on and off pit road. Just get out of the way." His car struck the pit wall, injuring two crew members on the No. 98 team. He was involved in a massive pit fire last week, which sent three crew members (two of his own) to a local hospital

There were 11 leaders, 23 lead changes, and six cautions for a total of 33 laps.
